about the book

The Art Of Staying On The Mats For Life, discusses the roadmap that the author, Glenn Lambdin, has developed and utilizes to stay on the mats. In addition to sharing his passion for jiu jitsu, the book covers the difficult realities of age related limitations that older grapplers face and how he has accepted, accommodates, and whenever possible, overcomes these limitations.

Concepts such as, Weaponizing Bad Positions, Mechanics of the Gi, Creating Chill Positions, Creating Systems, Creating a Jiu Jitsu Laboratory, and adding Catch Wrestling into your jiu jitsu journey has helped him stay on the mats and eventually earn a blackbelt at 65 years of age.

In addition to sharing Glenn's own experiences and suggestions, The Art Of Staying On The Mats For Life features interviews with 5 of  the art's more well known elders of jiu jitsu; Richard Bresler, Karel "The Silver Fox" Pravec, Rick Ellis, Tom Corrie, and Elaine  Werner Beiersdorfer "The Jiu Jitsu Grandma".

The Art Of Staying On The Mats For Life also has links to videos that highlights techniques that Glenn has collected, developed, and organized into systems that can help encourage older grapplers to stay relevant on the mats.
